Barbara Jarrett Drummond, a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, has spent her career dedicated to public service and the betterment of her community. Born and raised in Mobile, Barbara understands the challenges facing the city and is committed to building a future where every neighborhood has the resources and opportunities to succeed.

For more than a decade, Barbara has represented District 103 in the Alabama House of Representatives. During her time in office, she has fought tirelessly for public education, workforce development, equitable healthcare, and stronger communities. Her leadership has delivered real results, including $11.4 million in state funding for Mobile County Public Schools and $15 million to expand Mobile’s international airport, boosting both education and local economic growth.

Barbara’s experience also includes serving as Public Affairs Director for Mobile County and Executive Director of Administrative Services and Community Affairs for the City of Mobile. Her early career in journalism gave her a unique understanding of communication and community engagement. She is a proud graduate of the University of South Alabama with a degree in Communications.

In early 2025, Barbara announced her candidacy for Mayor of Mobile.
